Marketplace Listings & SEO Basics

Step 1: Find the words your buyers use

List the exact phrases a shopper would type to find your product. Use the marketplace's autocomplete, look at top competitors, and note synonyms and use-cases. Step 2: Write a title that leads with the primary keyword

Start with brand and main keyword phrase, then the two or three attributes that matter most. Front-load important words before mobile truncates the title. Step 3: Use bullets and description for benefits

Turn features into benefits ("stainless steel" becomes "rust-proof, lasts for years"). Answer the questions that make someone hesitate. Step 4: Fill in every attribute and backend field

Attributes and hidden search terms let the algorithm index synonyms and place you in filtered searches. Index each keyword once; don't repeat. Step 5: Invest in images

Use a clean main image plus photos that show scale, detail, and the product in use. Images drive conversion more than any other element. Step 6: Review and refine

Check which search terms convert, prune the ones that don't, and update copy after any catalog change. Listings are living infrastructure. Why this matters

Small, consistent listing improvements compound. A complete, well-optimized listing ranks higher, converts better, and makes every ad dollar work harder.
